You're One of a Kind

For week 3, we will be looking at something I know you all love doing...WRITING A STORY! I can hear you all cheering and chanting how I am the best! Thank you...this really warms my heart...

I would like for you to watch this VERY short film, using the link below, called Goldie:Too Big For Her Town

After watching this short, I would like for you to write a story about a character that is different from everyone else. I would like for you to really tell me what your character is experiencing.

**In our conferences, many of you were encouraged to use your 5 senses when writing. Here is your chance to show me what you can do!**

We have talked about the elements of a story (setting, characters, plot, problem, and solution) already, so there should be no reason why we do not include these elements into our story. To make sure that we don't forget, you are to PLAN OUT YOUR STORY BEFORE YOU WRITE IT, using the story map below

You will not send me your story map, but please show it to your parent before you start writing!

You can type your story out using Word Document on your office 365 account.

Here are some things that I would like for you to remember when writing:

- Indent the beginning of your paragraphs (use the TAB button on your keyboard)

- A paragraph looks at one idea at a time

- Make sure your proper nouns (names of people and places) have a capital letter

- USE PUNCTUATION!!

- Only submit ONE copy of your story!

I look forward to reading your one of a kind stories!
